It is suggested that learning a foreign language as early as possible plays a pivotal role in the present day and age. Obviously, it has a powerful impact on accelerating learning process. What is certain, it provides children with a useful source by which they could pick up new language quickly. The present essay aims to discuss that being exposed to second language from childhood is profitable for at least three main reasons.

First of all, children who learn a language when they are very young have a much better chance of not having a foreign accent when speaking another language. For one thing, before puberty, the chemical activities of the children's brain are about learning language and social communication. For instance, children at the bilingual kindergartens learn faster than the ordinary kindergartens. Another thing is that, the speech perception of children is more ready than the adults and as we get older, it is harder to take language with native pronunciation. As an illustration, young immigrants' accent is more acceptable than the old ones.

Secondly, children enjoy learning with playing. In the first place, we would never try to introduce high school students to a foreign language via children's nursery rhyme, silly songs and hand puppets. An example may help clarify the point. In Korea, children should start learning English at the kindergartens so they can speak English more fluently than other countries. All in all, teaching second language at the lower ages should be parents' focal point.

The last but not the least, because the lack of responsibilities, stress and tension children have a wide memory for saving new things. Professor Williams, the head of psychology department at Boston University claims that being exposed to additional languages from birth is actually the best time to start. The latest figures released by National Census Washington (N.C.W) reflect that about seven out of ten children who start learning from childhood are more successful. In other words, children's mind is similar to a ready farm for planting seeds without any plough. On the basis of the above, it can be concluded that parents should concentrate on children learning more and more.
